Wildhunt is a Thrash/Heavy Metal band hailing from Vienna, Austria. Formed in late 2011 by guitarist/vocalist Wolfgang Elwitschger and then-drummer Lukas Roth, the band has been able to carve out a trademark sound that combines the vigorous riffs and ferocious harmonies of 80s and early 90s Metal with the intricate song structures and arrangements reminiscent of 70s Prog Rock.

The band’s lyrical themes primarily explore the complexities of the human mind, delving into dark tales and societal reflections.

In 2012, Wildhunt released their debut EP titled “Scenting the Prey”, which swiftly caught the attention of the old school metal scene, leading to numerous shows both domestically and internationally. This initial success paved the way for their signing with the esteemed Italian label “Metal on Metal Records” in 2016 for the release of their first full-length album, “Descending”. Critically acclaimed and adored by fans, the album secured a place on various year-end “best of” lists and received a notable recommendation from Fenriz during his “Band of the Week” broadcasts. To further promote the album, Wildhunt embarked on a 10-day European tour alongside Vigilance (SLO) and Körgull the Exterminator (ESP), attracting a dedicated international fan base.

Over the past few years, the band has achieved several significant milestones, including a feature on a local TV show and performances at festivals and as support for renowned acts such as Vicious Rumors and Destruction, among others.

Currently, Wildhunt is diligently working on their eagerly awaited second studio album. With rattling and tremendous moaning, the hunter’s drawing near!
